This program will help you figure out the various options involved in the current 1988 feed grain farm programs. All you have to do is enter your percentage of the crop (ex. 100 % if you own it or are cash renting, 66.66 % if your share is 2/3).
Enter your ASCS Established Yield and your ASCS base acres. Hit enter on your keyboard.
Click on the button to choose the crop that you want to work with. This will enter the various information (like deficiency, PLD rate, and estimated Pik & Roll) that is needed to figure the different crops.
The next two cards show the different amounts of payments for the croping options.
On the expense card put in the figures that fit your farm practices. Choose Rent if you rent on a crop share basis. In the own column enter in the land field either your land payments or if you cash rent put that amount here.
In the last card choose either own or rent option and the crop program that you want. Fill in your projected crop yield in it's box and the price that you project for the coming season ( include in here the price + the projected Pik & Roll advantage).
Play around with it and it will help you with a lot of answers.
